The Ontario Quarter Horse Association
hosts an all breed trail ride annually.
Mark your
calendars now - the date is April 30 and May 1st, 2011

The OQHA Recreational Trail Riding Program is designed to
encourage riders of all ages, skill levels and breeds to have
fun and to earn rewards by logging hours riding on outdoor
trails. Riders must be annual members of the OQHA (50/person or
60.00/family), which includes an annual subscription (2 issues)
of the OQHA Newsletter and (10 issues of The Rider Newspaper).
And the program is open to riders of all breeds of horses. There
is a onetime annual enrolment fee, as the program is ongoing
from year-to-year (points accumulated do not end yearly, but go
to a maximum of 1,000 hours, then start over). This group also
co-ordinates and hosts the AQHA/OQHA Trail Rides held in
Ontario.
Riders must keep track of their trail riding or
recreational driving hours on an
OQHA tally sheet Listing the horse’s name, Double time will
be awarded for all OQHA sanctioned trail rides.
Recognition will be awarded for each of the following hours:
100 hours 250 hours 500 hours 750 hours 1,000
hours
to a value determined by the Recreational Trail
Riding Committee.
Any NEW applicant first joining will be
sent the above rules and OQHA tally sheet and a gift from the
OQHA for joining and participating in this program.
