Each day Jasmyn Rivait is reporting from the Youth World Cup on the happenings of Team Canada.
  DAY 1
  July 3rd 2010

Today was the first of many busy days in Oklahoma. We decorated the hallway by our rooms which by the way look amazing..and the best! Later in the day all of the teams loaded onto 2 buses and went down to the fairgrounds for the Opening Ceremonies. All the teams were introduced and paraded down the center of the arena.
After that we loaded back onto our bus back to the Embassy Suites hotel, where all of the teams got together to eat, socialize, and exchange our gifts.

  DAY 2
  July 4th 2010

We drew our horses today which turned out very well. Rianna Storey, Paige Fleetwood, and Danielle Olafson had attended the Showmanship Clinic, kindly hosted by Patti Carter.
We decorated our stalls with all Canadian trade marks. We put up 4 Large Canadian flags, 2 CQHA curtains, a garden containing red and white flowers, a Canadian banner, profile pages on each one of us, and last but not last a moose holding a hockey stick with a hockey puck with EH!
The baseball game we were supposed to watch had been canceled because of rain so we all loaded the buses and headed back to our hotel for the night.

  Day 3
  July 5th 2010

The early mornings have now started, we have to be up around 5:00 am just to be able to eat breakfast and then be on the buses right by 7:00 am.
Our team Canada members and horses did very well in the clinics today, which included Horsemanship, Hunter Under Saddle, and Western Riding. We also got to take care of 2 of the alternate horses for AQHA.
After the hot, humid day at the barn we headed off to the water park for some fun.

  Day 4
  July 6th 2010

It was a lot hotter down here in Oklahoma today.
We had clinics in Hunt Seat Equitation, Trail, and Western Pleasure today. All the horses were very good for their clinics.
After the clinics and dinner were over we stayed at the fairgrounds for some fun filled games in the arena, like seeing who can put the most shirts on or volley ball, etc. We all had a good time and what felt like a long day.

  Day 5
  July 7th, 2010

It seems like the weather just keeps getting hotter down here.
Deejay Reid had competeed in the cutting class today, the first class of the Youth World Cup, riding JK Trouble. They had scored two 62's but did not make it into the top 10.
We went to the Cowboy Museum which was very interesting. After the museum, we came back to the barn and prepped the horses for tomorrow's full day of showing.

  Day 6
  July 8th, 2010

Today we had a really busy show schedule, we had Showmanship, Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, Hunter Uunder Saddle, Hunt Seat Equitation, Western Riding and Trail.
Danielle Olafson placed 7th in the Hunter Under Saddle, Rianna Storey placed 2nd Horsemanship and 6th in the Equitation, Morgan Shipka placed 6th in the Horsemanship also, and last but not least Paige Carter placed 3rd in the Trail.
After the long day, we came back to the hotel for free time.

  Day 7
  July 9th, 2010

First thing this morning, Paige Carter and Rianna Storey drew their reining horses. They both rode wonderfuly if I do say so myself.
Paige's pattern was very well riden and she scored two good 68's placing her 8th. Her second placing was not calculated and that will be fixed   tomorrow.
Rianna, however, ended up getting a horse a little on the wild side. She did an amazing job showing her horse as well as she could!

  Day 8
  July 10th, 2010

After figuring out Paige's reinging score from yesterday, it  turned out to be good enough for 5th place unde the second judge.
Today was our last day showing, Morgan Shipka placed 6th in the horsemanship, Danielle placed 9th in horsemanship, and she also placed 5th in the showmanship. Danielle also won the gold medal in the horsemanship challenge later on in the evening at the Battle in the Saddle. After the horsemanship we watched the Battle in the Saddle competition.
We had also had to take down all of our stall decorations today since it would be our last day at the barns.

  day 9
  July 11th, 2010

Today was the last day of the YWC 2010. We had an awards breakfast. Danielle had won a personal Reserve Champion in the Hunter Under Saddle.
Germany won the overall Reserve Champion, winning Montana Silver Smith spurs.  The winning team of the Youth World Cup for 2010 was the United States.  Canada finished in 7th place overall.
After the breakfast, we had packed our stuff to be ready to leave, some of us leaving today, some that will leave tomorrow. The goodbyes I believed to be the tuffest part. It was so hard to day goodbye to all the amazing people I had met from all over the world, especially the ones who I may not see again n the future.
The Youth World Cup was an event in my life that I will never forget. There were so many memories and friendships made there in the week I only had to get to know them.
I thank everyone so much for making the Youth World Cup possible for all of the youths, it is definitely a life changing experience and will never be forgotten.
